I came across an article at Christianity Today (here) via Michael Bird's post over at Euangelion (here) concerning Rosaria Champagne Butterfield's "train wreck conversion." The article briefly recounts how one pastor and his wife reached out to Rosaria, a leftist lesbian university professor, with genuine care and friendship and how such subtle gestures led Rosaria to the open arms of the Savior. It provides a great example how Christians should engage people who may believe in and live out an "alternative" sexuality.
After reading the CT article, I did a little searching and came across Rosaria Butterfield's book, The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert, which details her conversion. Pick it up at amazon here. If you're skeptical about the purchase then watch the recent interview with Rosaria Butterfield concerning her book below.
I going to use this as springboard to pursue a series of posts on human sexuality, homosexuality, and cultural engagement regarding such matters. So stay tuned.
